Soooooo.......   I signed out of the military last thursday and I am once again a free man!  the sad thing is I dont have a windows based pc anylonger (writing on a macbook as we speak).   I've been thinking about getting parallells or boot camp and installing windows xp (if I can find it cheap)

Is SWG still fresh and exciting?  I know I have missed tons of stuff.  The old itch to get my SWG keeps coming back no matter how hard I try to bury it.  I saw some starwars toys in a store today and it just hit me like a ton of bricks....

...... /goestocheckebayforwindowsxp..............

I might see ya soon!

Congratulations, Bro! Leaving "the life" was not an easy decision, I know....but I think you will know it was the right decision.

As for the game, I can't say the content has been either "fresh" or "exciting". It's still fun, though, and you are missed.

Keep on rockin' in the free world.....while it's still free.

Hey,

Was bored and thought I would stop by in here, same thing happens to me. I see anything Star Wars related and I suddenly get an urge to come back and play. Seeing as how I don't have much planned this summer, I'll probably play a bit and see what's going on.

What have I missed in the 2-3 years I've been gone? Tongue

Hi Stu,

I'm not much of a reader of the forums yet, mostly keep an eye on the guild reports.  But just saw this and wanted to add my welcome back and say it has been nice to play with you a few times.  I am quiet most of the time.  Might seem like I am arrogant, but I'm a newbie to SWG and still have a tough time keeping an eye on everything including the chat bar.  So no arrogance, just learning lol.

The main reason I posted this is to congratulate you on your decision to get off active duty.  The coming days are probably going to get tougher because of the job market and the economy.  But the times we are living in reminds me so much of the Vietnam era, and your decision reminded me of the decision I had to make in 1968 upon returning from my "hot vacation" in the illustrious and defunt and shat upon Republic of Vietnam.  You made the right decision.  Dont be tempted to go back in.  Go back to school...learn a trade...start a ho house....ANYTHING but active duty.  Sorry for my un-patriotic tone, but it aint worth it Bud.

I speak with a little experience, I was on the way back to the recruiting office in the Spring of 1971 and saw a US Army Reserve Center.  "Hmmm," me thinks to meself. "I thinks I will checks this out!!!!"  In the words of a great man named Elo.  I fooked up!!!!!  To make matters worse I went to work full time with this bunch of weekend warriors a year later!!!!  I really fooked up!!!!!!!!  All because of the need for a paycheck.  I hate people who ask themselves questions when they speak, but I'll do it in this instance.  "Do I wish I had done something else other than military?"   Yes, Indeed...yes absolutely...without hesitation...YES!!  The closest you can get to active duty is full time reserve!!!  So if you see anybody in uniform...even the postman....Run Bud...just Run!!!!!

Glad you came back to the game...and I look forward to getting to know you better in the coming days.

I personally saw nothing unpatriotic in your advice.
